A passport is a legal document that grants you rights and privileges while abroad. Whether you are an Indonesian citizen, non-citizen or other nationality, you can have your passport renewed, replace it or apply for a new one. The Indonesian Government is responsible for issuance and possession of all passports, including the application of foreigners who intend to travel to Indonesia.
A valid passport is required to enter Indonesia and it must be valid for a minimum of six months beyond the date of entry into the country. Passports must also be free from damage and must not contain any void or expired visa pages, as these will prevent you from obtaining the appropriate visa to enter Indonesia paspor online.
Obtaining a passport
in Indonesia is straightforward and the service offered by the Embassy of
Indonesia is competitive, fast and cost effective. The service can be accessed
online and by appointment.
The Embassy of
Indonesia offers a range of passport services, including:
Regular (E-Passport)
A regular passport is
a type of passport issued by the Ministry of Immigration and is available for
both domestic and international travel. The application process is the same for
both types of passports, and you can submit your regular passport either in
person or by mail.
Electronic Ordinary
Passports
A electronic ordinary
passport is a type of passport that has replaced the traditional paper passport
and allows for faster processing times. This type of passport has an electronic
chip on the inside that contains biometric information such as fingerprints and
a photograph.
It is valid for up to
ten years, and can be renewed by the Ministry of Immigration at any time. A
renewal passport may be applied for online or by mail, but it can take longer
to process than a new application.
Obtaining a
Replacement Passport
For passports that
are lost, stolen or damaged, it is important to file a police report
immediately and to have the police report verified by the embassy in your home
country. The embassy can then issue a replacement passport.
The embassy can also
help with other matters related to your passport, such as obtaining a new
number or getting it replaced in the event of an emergency. The embassy can
also offer advice on travel to Indonesia and local laws and customs.
Applying for a Visa
and Document Legalization
The Embassy of
Indonesia can provide a service for you to get your UK documents legalised for
use in Indonesia. The service includes a fee, which can be paid online or by
cheque. The embassy will also send you an email to let you know that your documents
have been processed.
Applicants can also
visit the embassy in person to apply for a visa and documents legalization.
This service is available at the embassy's office in Palbatu, Jakarta and at
RPX Surabaya.
A copy of the
embassy's address must be provided in addition to a copy of the applicant's
birth certificate and a letter from the parent(s) indicating the applicant's
identity. The embassy also requires an application form that must be filled out
in full and signed by the applicant.
